"What you say matters just as much as how you say it"

A playful, powerful, and unexpectedly hilarious way to teach kids how their tone shapes connection.

Tone It Down is an engaging, interactive communication game that helps kids master one of the most essential—and most overlooked—social skills: understanding that how you say something can matter even more than what you say.

Packed with silly phrases, dramatic voices, and exaggerated expressions, this high-energy game turns playtime into memorable learning moments. Kids explore and really get to feel how tone of voice, facial expression, and body language can completely shift the message, making space for clearer, kinder, and more confident conversations.

Have you ever said something and been surprised by how someone interpreted it? Tone It Down helps children and adults explore how the same words can communicate completely different messages depending on how they're said.

Players take turns reading simple phrases using the tone of voice indicated by their dice roll. The tone of voice changes the intended message of the phrase card. This gives kids an opportunity to hear and see how the way they say things impacts the perception of their words. Along the way, players practice recognizing emotions, understanding social cues, building empathy, and becoming more aware of how their own communication impacts others. Adults can start meaningful conversations about respectful communication and values systems without a lengthy lecture.

Perfect for families, classrooms, counseling offices, and social skills groups.

Players learn to:

  • Recognize emotions in others

  • Understand the impact of tone of voice

  • Build empathy and perspective-taking skills

  • Improve communication and social awareness

  • Practice emotional expression in a fun, low-pressure way

Through laughter and playful experimentation, children build stronger, more respectful communication habits, increased emotional awareness and regulation, deeper empathy and social insight through shared play

Tone It Down is more than just a game—it’s a fun, flexible tool for raising emotionally intelligent, self-aware kids who know how to express themselves.

"Big conversations, different perspectives, endless possibilities."

For the spirited and strong-willed kids who always have a comeback, love a good challenge, and fight hard to make their voices heard.

That’s Debatable transforms that passion into purpose by guiding players through structured, kid-friendly debates on fun and thought-provoking topics.

Players are encouraged to form clear positions, actively listen to others’ viewpoints, and—perhaps the toughest challenge of all—practice letting go of needing the last word.

Should cereal be considered soup? Is it better to be kind or honest? Would you rather know the future or be able to change the past?

In That's Debatable, players are challenged to think through interesting, silly, and thought-provoking questions. Participants defend their opinions, consider alternative viewpoints, and sometimes even argue for a side they don't agree with.

The goal isn't to win—it's to learn how to think critically, communicate effectively, and understand that reasonable people can see things differently.

Great for families, classrooms, youth groups, and anyone who loves a good discussion.

Players learn to:

  • Think critically about different perspectives

  • Practice respectful disagreement

  • Strengthen communication skills

  • Build confidence sharing opinions

  • Develop empathy and open-mindedness

Through engaging prompts and playful competition, kids build essential life skills like respectful communication, critical thinking, and self-regulation.

Whether used at home, in classrooms, or in therapeutic settings, That’s Debatable provides a safe space for children to express themselves, feel heard, and discover the power of thoughtful dialogue.
